Muscular imbalances are the precursors to compensation, which ultimately lead to pain and injury. The identification and correction of these imbalances is more involved than simply stretching and strengthening opposing muscles. This lecture/workshop will take an in-depth look at the concepts behind Muscle Activation Techniques and will provide trainers with a step-by-step approach to assess and correct each client's individual muscular imbalances. In addition, we will delve into the neurological issues that must be addressed prior to designing exercise programs. As trainers, it becomes our responsibility to understand these imbalances, compensations and neurological involvements in order to prevent us from injuring our clients, and to ensure maximum gains in fitness.
