233: Balance Training Toolbox for Older Adults
233: Balance Training Toolbox for Older Adults (WS / Personal Training / Special Populations)
Presented By Sue Scott, MS
time block F - Saturday, 8:20-10:10am
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” This fun ABLE BODIES® workshop takes a “squeaky wheels” approach to balance training. Personal trainers learn assessments to find the problems, then dive into the “balance toolbox” for their best options. Learn techniques that address kinesis, vision, inner ear, gait, posture, strength and automatic balance systems. You’ll learn many new ways to improve balance and mobility in your older clients.
Sue Scott, MS, is an active living specialist and creator of ABLE BODIES®. She holds a master’s degree in exercise science and is a lecturer at Portland State University. Certification: ACSM
