In keeping with current research, this session focuses on modifying mat work for lower-back problems. Major focus is placed on creating awareness and endurance in the deep stabilizers of the lumbar and pelvic region to alleviate and prevent lower-back pain. This workshop is a perfect foundation for any exercise program.
Melanie Byford-Young, PT, is co-owner of Pacific Northwest Pilates in Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA. She holds a degree in physical therapy and is a STOTT PILATES® instructor trainer.
