Jim Karanas, MS, is chief fitness officer for Club One Fitness Inc. and the global head of training and education for Johnny G’s Kranking® program. A trainer for over 30 years and an ACE CEC provider, Jim was named one of “America’s Top 100 Fitness Trainers” by Men’s Journal and has been a regular fitness contributor to several newspapers and magazines.

As fitness trainers, we have traditionally recommended cardiovascular exercise that involves a great degree of leg motion. Kranking is a new form of training that utilizes the arms, shoulders and shoulder girdle muscles as primary movers. It provides clients and students with another way to cross train and strengthen the core and the shoulders; not to mention the benefits that come from balancing the work between the upper body and lower body for injury prevention. Join us, as we introduce the fitness industry’s newest form of training.
**Note – This is a late added session. If you wish to obtain CECs for this session, you will have to petition with your CEC agency in order to receive credit.

This upper-body workout utilizes a stationary hand cycle that focuses on both cardiovascular and strength training. Kranking is cycling from the waist up, a fast, power workout for the upper body and core. Come rock with one of the greatest visionaries our industry has ever known.
