In this workshop, we explore how to tailor workouts correctly with periodization, recovery ratios and power blocks. Theory then becomes practice as we ride our challenging interval session.

It can be a significant form of training for amateur and professional athletes, active boomers who want to step up their training without the impact associated with many forms of land training and former swimmers who want an intensified workout. Learn how to create programming that is a step above the familiar—and watch their fitness take a new direction. This special preconference session truly has something for everyone. IDEA is happy to offer two distinct tracks of study, please read below to find the track that most suits your needs. Experienced Instructors: If you want to challenge yourself and your students, then you have come to the right place. In this 8-hour course of study, you will be exposed to the many methods/techniques that are guaranteed to bring greater intensity to your water fitness classes. Your students won’t have the time, or the breath, to trade recipes and tell stories about their children once you learn new methods for creating productive, progressive class formats. Empower yourself as an instructor, and empower your students to embrace new formats that truly train their bodies and keeps them mentally engaged in the water. First, you will learn the basics as they pertain to the properties of water and how they are utilized for effective training. Next, you will learn a simple system for developing classes that will challenge a wide variety of participants. Finally, you will have the opportunity to put this newly acquired information to the test. Beware! This is not aquatic dance…it is water fitness!
