This workshop will introduce participants to a variety of exercises on the split-pedal stability chair. The capabilities of the chair will be described and demonstrated. See how this modality offers your clients/students the opportunity to perform functional work against spring resistance in a variety of positions (sitting, standing and lying). Here is an opportunity to train core stability while working bilaterally, unilaterally or reciprocally with the limbs. Repeated as session #464.

This interactive workshop teaches participants select exercises from the STOTT PILATES® Essential Reformer repertoire with emphasis on exercise goals, movement patterns, breath patterns and alignment. The adjustments and safety concerns when working with the reformer will be explained, as well as the specific benefits of working with this type of equipment—strengthening and lengthening muscles, developing core stability and mind-body connection.

This workshop demonstrates a circuit of STOTT PILATES exercises incorporating the mat work repertoire, as well as variations utilizing larger pieces of equipment like the stability chair and reformer. Participants will try the exercises while learning cues and corrections for safety and effectiveness. You will also learn a well-rounded circuit program and discover how to manage a group circuit training class. BYOM

Welcome to IDEA’s first “mini-Inner IDEA” preconference 1-day experience, intended to give you a taste of the full Inner IDEA event—a mindful multidimensional exploration of wellness. After an experiential opening address on the art of living in the present moment, you will be able to participate in three body-mind education tracks—Gyrotonic® exercises, yoga and Pilates—offered in three separate time periods (you can stay with one track for all three or jump back and forth). The day will culminate with an inspiring tai chi experience. Note: This preconference session is designed to create an immersion experience of body-mind modalities, in a distinctly different environment than the rest of the IDEA World Fitness Convention. (Participation is limited to 150 people.)
